On March 16th, the French Ambassador in Israel, Mr.Patrick Maisonnave, has held the closing cocktail of the colloquium Climate Change Constraints on Agriculture. Scientists, industriels, ministerial and institutionnal representatives were invited to close this important France-Israeli scientific meeting.
“[…] I can safely say that this scientific meeting is part of the most important French-Israeli scientific events, like there is once a year. That’s true because of two main challenges :First, that’s true because recent weather events bear witness to the fact that both Israel and France are concerned by abnormal rainfall or drought. […] Secondly, that’s true because Israel and France have separately developed top-ranking expertises in agricultural production in different sectors according to their own needs. […]”
At the end of his speech the Ambassador has firmly encouraged the French scientists to jointly submit projects with their Israeli colleagues to funding agencies, including the High Council for Research and Technology, the Mediterranean ERA-NET program or the European Horizon 2020 calls.
