Day 1: More than 300 persons at Tel Aviv’s Cinematheque for the screening of “A Thirsty World”

The first day of the French-Israeli Forum on Water, organized by the Office for Scientific and Academic Cooperation of the French Embassy in Israel, was a success!

More than 300 persons came to the Cinematheque of Tel Aviv to watch the beautiful and stimulating documentary movie La Soif du Monde (A Thirsty World), by the world famous photographer and movie director Yann Arthus-Bertrand.

The screening was preceded by a one-hour cocktail and a speech by the French Ambassador in Israel, Mr Christophe Bigot.

After the screening, Mr Abraham Tenne, Head of department at the Israeli Water Authority, gave a presentation on the water issue in Israel and the technological tools used by the country to face it. Then, Mr Henri Starkman, President of Veolia Environment Israel, presented the industrial point of view and challenges. Eventually, the public was invited to ask questions to the two speakers.

Many thanks to everyone who participated to the organization of this event!
