Within the framework of the Israeli-French agreement on scientific cooperation, the Ministry of Science, Culture and Sport of the State of Israel, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs and the Ministry of Higher Education and Research of France, have decided to provide financial support for Research Networks Projects carried out by scientists of the two countries.
Deadline for submitting applications is March 15th 2009.

Conferences & Travel Expenses
The Office for Science and Technology of the French Embassy in Israel supports conferences that will take place in Israel in 2009 and visits of scientists and physicians from Israel to France and from France to Israel.
Funding will be granted in the field of basic sciences such as life sciences, mathematics, physics, chemistry, medicine, engineering…
Funding can also be requested to cover travel expenses to present newly patented innovative research to venture capital companies for instance.
The maximum funding per applicant will be 5 000 $.
Deadline for submitting applications is the 15th of February 2009.

My name is Sigal Ben-Yehuda and I am a researcher at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. I’m writing regarding your call for supporting conferences between French and Israeli scientists (http://fitscience.wordpress.com/call-for-proposals/). A few researchers from our University are organizing a meeting between researchers from Institute Pasteur and the Hebrew University on the subject of Host-cell-pathogen interactions. We have already decided on the size and the subject of the meeting and we think that the location will be probably at Pasteur. I’m writing to ask you regarding the support you are willing to provide: is it 5,000 $ per each applicant that travels to the meeting (we are planning to send 12 researchers), or is it for the entire meeting? Can both the Israeli orgenizer and the French orgenizer get support?

This call support for meeting in Israel only. Because the policy is to serve as many colleagues as possible with our dedicated fund, $5000 is the maximum amount you can request to organize a meeting.
